About this tour
Walk up the sacred hill along the route ancient Athenians used during the Panathenaic Festival in honour of Athena. Along the slopes you pass shrines, caves and theatres, including the Theatre of Dionysus - the birthplace of Greek drama, once seating 17,000 - and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, built in 161 AD and still used during the Athens Festival today. Your guide connects the ruins back to daily life and worship in Classical Greece.
